The Manitoba, a 28-foot sailing vessel was recovered from a warehouse in Lake Sarskanchawan in northern Canada. The ship made te 3000 mile journey to Higgins Lake in 2002.  This ship came with many stories, of pirates, ghosts and lost cargo.

The first hint of anything mysterious for us came in the summer of 2003, our first summer with the boat.  In the still of a late July evening, the ship mysteriously picked up anchor and floated away to Treasure Island - over a mile away. Later that summer, the ship again mysteriously picked up achor and was found over 3 miles away. Then in late September of that year, the boat again lifted anchor and was found sitting on our beach, on it's side.  Neighbors have also heard voices on summer evenings coming from the unmanned ship.

The boat has become a hangout for all of our renters, especially the kids. The young can become pirates and have endless amounts of fun. We've had as many as 20 kids (all renters) playing on it at one time.
